Dance Workshops
Sean Nós dance uses the sound of the shoes striking the floor as a percussive instrument. The classes will work on fundamental dance movements, vocabulary and basic rhythms, matching music and movements that progress into fun and lively dances.

Ranóg Townsend
Ranóg has received both her BA in Irish Music and Dance and Master in Ethnochoreology at the Irish World Academy University of Limerick. After stepping out in sessions from a young age she represented Munster in the Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann and won the All Ireland in 2015. Ranóg has taught workshops around the world including Norway, the UK, and America as well as at many traditional Irish music festivals. Currently Ranóg is a lecturer in percussive dance at the University Limerick, as well as a dance facilitator with Headway Ireland working with patients with acquired brain injuries. When it comes to dancing she thrives on opportunities to share her passion for the traditional arts with others. Her approach to sean nós dance is it sits within the music, between the notes and she places monumental value on the relationship dancers have with traditional musicians and singers and the energy that is cultivated between performers.
